I’m so excited to share our new DIY LEGO table with you today!
We are a family that is absolutely obsessed with all things LEGO, and I’ve created a fun way for my two youngest kids to play with their LEGO sets.
Not only is their new DIY Lego table the perfect size for them, it took me under 3 minutes to put together.
Another plus is that when I want to use the kids’ table for something other than a LEGO table, I can easily return it back to its’ original look in.
Turn the LEGO base plate upside down.
Press one glue dot down onto each corner of the bottom of the plate, then place a couple more in the middle.
If you’re not familiar with Glue Dots, they’re basically just blobs of super sticky adhesive that work really well.
You can find them at a craft store in the adhesive section in various sizes.
Try not to touch the adhesive part because it can weaken the adhesive.
Place the base plate over the table and try to center it before placing it down.
Once centered, press the plate down firmly in the center of the DIY Lego table.
If you don’t get it perfectly centered the first time and want to try again, just lift up and press down again.
I told you it was easy!
My son can’t get enough of his new DIY Lego table and his new Lego Duplo Super Heroes Batman Adventure set.
He even photobombed the photo I was taking of our new sets. “I just want to be in the picture with my Legos, mom.”
I love the fact that all of the LEGO sets are made specifically for different age groups and the size and quantity of pieces in each set vary depending on the age level.
There are so many reasons why I buy my kids LEGO sets!

Each LEGO set comes with an easy to follow instruction booklet that kids can follow to build the set as pictures on the box.
In order for to build it correctly, they have to follow the directions carefully.
As a former elementary school teacher, I know that this is a really important skill for them to learn.
My son’s Super Heroes Lego Duplo set came with directions that he was able to follow, and it was amazing to watch!
I loved watching the wheels turning in his head as he analyzed the instruction booklet, searched for the correct pieces in the picture instructions, and kept referencing the instructions to make sure that everything was done correctly.
I only had to help him once!
After building the bridge from his set, a light went on in his head and his face lit up as he realized the bridge pieces could move.
“Oh my gosh, the bridge goes up and down mom!”
It’s little moments of discovery like this that I love!
Without fail, my kids always follow the directions to build their new set.
After they’ve played with it for the day, however, they usually take it apart and then build it their OWN way.
They love getting creative and invent new ways to use the pieces and create something new.
I usually get a tour of their new structure and why they built it the way that they did.
Lego sets also encourage open-play and imagination, which is a crucial skill for them to learn.
Their creativity brings the sets and characters to life, and with the superhero sets they get to really us their imagination.
Overhearing my son say things like “Don’t worry kitty, I’ll save you!” and watching Superman fly down and rescue the kitty that’s stuck in the water makes my mama heart go pitter patter.
There are SO many different, amazing LEGO sets out there!
There truly is something for every child regardless of age, gender, and interests.
Have a superhero fan?
Perfect, there’s a whole line of superhero LEGO for all ages! When I gave my older son his Lego Super Heroes The Hulk Buster Smash set, he yelled “Thanks mom, this is the set that I’ve been wanting!” and gave me a big hug.
Do you have a dinosaur lover like my two boys?
Awesome, there’s the fun Jurassic World Lego sets that my kids can’t get enough of!
In fact, they’ve got every set in the collection because the kids love them, and they are played with every single day without fail in our home.
Each shelf on my boys’ bookshelf in their room is dedicated to a specific LEGO collection.
Above is part of the Jurassic World shelf.
Is your child obsessed with Star Wars like mine?
Perfect, there are some really fun Star Wars sets, including the Millenium Falcon set that my son got for Christmas.
This is another set that gets played with daily, and I’m amazed at all of the tiny details and features that make the ship look just like the real Millenium Falcon in the movie.
Last but not least, LEGO sets are solid, durable, and made to last, which I really appreciate.
My husband STILL has all of his LEGO sets he had growing up all organized and labeled in boxes.
The kids love when he pulls them out and they get to build together!
This is one of the biggest reasons why every year for my kids’ birthdays and for Christmas I buy LEGO sets.
They teach my kids important skills, come in such a big variety, and are made to last.
I envision my grandkids playing with these one day with their parents, just like they play and build with their parents.
If you make the DIY LEGO table I shared, I’d love to hear what your kids think! We just love ours.

So what are your or your child’s favorite LEGO sets?
